Sedum morganianum – Burror’s Tail
Versatile Burror’s Tail, Sedum morganianum, works well as a seasonal annual, or long-lived houseplant. It features abundant, long cascading stems crammed full with plump blue-green bean-like leaves. It creates a cool waterfall of soft color with its lengthy stems that can grow 3′ long. Burror’s Tail looks fantastic mixed with hot summer annuals, but also brings great interest as a houseplant.
Sedum is a large group of perennial plants that can be tender and treated like an annual or houseplant, or hardy, ones that come back in our zone here in St Louis, Missouri. Sedum morganianum is a tender perennial that cannot tolerate below 40 degrees.
Pet safe houseplant – non-toxic to cats and dogs.
Growing instructions: Grow in well draining soil. Indoors place in a sunny window. Outside place in sun to part shade. Fertilize plants lightly when they are actively growing, usually April through Aug, following fertilizer manufacturer’s directions. This plant will forgive you if you forget to water it. Let plant dry out a in between watering. Plant will require less water during fall and winter months.
