Thuja Frankie Boy Chinese Arborvitae
Remarkable long stringy foliage of lemon green on Frankie Boy Arborvitae, Thuja, forms into a small pyramidal shaped shrub. This unique shrub is perfect for use where an unusual accent is need. Foliage lightens to a warm caramel-orange in winter.
Slow growing, about 4″ a year, it makes a fantastic specimen for the garden, containers and miniature gardens. Works fantastic as an unusual topiary.
Franky Boy’s long filaments of lemon yellow foliage jutting out from a lime green interior move and sway with the slightest breeze creating an airy texture and great color contrast to other garden plants. You can have the effects of ornamental grasses without winter die-back.
It slowly grows to about 3-4′ tall and wide.
Plant in full sun. It benefits from a good sheering yearly, cutting about about 1/3 of the growth.
