Philodendron selloum – Tree Philodendron
Bring the outdoors in with the showy Tree Philodendron, Philodendron selloum. With large leaves that can grow whopping 4′ across, it looks like it would be a diva plant, but is actually the opposite. The striking foliage creates a stunning accent in any room. This exotic beauty is tolerant of dry air and will grow just about anywhere in the house except for dark corners. Also known as Philodendron bipinnatifidum, Hope Philodendron, and many others.
Plant in well-draining, good potting soil. Fertilize plants when they are actively growing, usually April through Aug, following fertilizer manufacturer’s directions. Let plants dry out between watering. Plants will require less water during fall and winter months. Plants can be moved outside in the summer.
