Monarda – Leading Lady Pink Bee Balm
SKU: n/a.Get a jump on flowers with Leading Lady Pink Bee Balm, Monarda. Brilliant pink flowers are lit with lighter interiors. The speckled flowers begin blooming 2-3 weeks before the typical Bee Balm. After the initial flowering has passed, a second wave appears, extending the flowering through midsummer.
Unlike its rambling cousins, Leading Lady Pink is well-behaved in the garden. It stays where you plant it and doesn’t run around bullying its neighbors. The aromatic foliage is naturally deer and rabbit-resistant. Its aromatic foliage smells like mint and can be used to flavor teas.
A pollinator powerhouse! The flowers’ sweet nectar attracts hoards of hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to the garden.
Plant Bee Balm in average to rich soil in full sun. Keep watered, especially when plants are setting up buds and blooming.
