Cornus alternifolia – Pagoda Dogwood
SKU: n/a.A lovely Missouri native tree or large shrub, Pagoda Dogwood, Cornus alternifolia, decorates the garden with fragrant, fluffy clusters of white flowers in spring. Bluish-black fruit on red stalks ripen in late summer. Pagoda Dogwood is named for its horizontal, upturned branches that form beautiful tiers. Fall brings stunning burgundy foliage. Illinois native tree.
Use Pagoda Dogwood in woodland and shady settings. It prefers rich, moist soil.
Plant in part shade, protecting it from the hot afternoon sun. Keep well watered until the tree gets established and during dry spells.
