Chlorophytum Vittatum Spider Plant
One of the easiest of all houseplants, Spider Plant, Vittatum, features long green foliage with striking white stripes through the center. Perfect in pots on desks or shelves, but shines when in a hanging container. Long stems will hold baby plants as the main plant matures than can be cut and planted as new plants. Can also be used as a showy accent in mixed shady containers. Looks great planted with Impatiens and Begonias.
Pet safe houseplant, non-toxic to cats, dogs and other pets.
Plant in well-draining, good potting soil. Fertilize plants when they are actively growing, usually April through Aug, following fertilizer manufacturer’s directions. Water plants when the soil surface gets dry, usually about once or twice a week. Let plants dry out a bit in between watering. Plants will require less water during fall and winter months. Spider plants likes humidity, but it’s not necessary. To add humidity, place plants on a bed of wet pebbles or mist occasionally. Plants prefer warm temperatures and should not be moved outdoors until night temperatures are at lease 60 degrees or more. The bottom leaves will turn brown and should be pinched off.
5″ Pot.
