A whole bouquet in one stalk, Snowflake Oakleaf Hydrangea creates bountiful displays. Its large plump panicles bloom in late spring on sturdy stems and can grow to a whopping 12-15″ in length. Flowers have a lovely scent and are attractive to bees and other pollinators. Flowers dry dusty pink and persist on the shrub for months. Large oak leaf shaped leaves create a dense showy shrub even when not blooming. In fall leaves turn brilliant shades of purple, russet and crimson. Winter exposes exfoliated bark and its interesting form.
Use Snowflake Oakleaf Hydrangea as a showy specimen, or for a breathtaking hedged. It looks beautiful in woodland and shady gardens. Its flowers are fantastic cut fresh or dried. Extremely rare variety.
Plant Oakleaf Hydrangeas in part to full shade. Will tolerate full sun if given enough water. Oakleaf Hydrangeas prefer regular moisture and fertile soils. For optimum bloom keep well watered especially when plants are setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells.
