Wisteria Blue Moon Kentucky Wisteria
Few plants can match the spectacular sight of Blue Moon Wisteria in full bloom. A repeat bloomer, Blue Moon Wisteria produces elegant cascades of sweetly scented blossoms 3 times each summer. Its long 6-12″ racemes of lilac blue flowers appear first in early summer, then twice again. Its beautiful blossoms are spectacular cut. Blue Moon is a robust vine that grows quickly, eventually reaching 25 feet. It does not require pruning, and in fact, will produce more flowers if pruning is kept to a minimum. Being a large, strong vine, it requires a sturdy support. Blue Moon is a hybrid of Wisteria macrostachya, commonly called Kentucky Wisteria, and a native of Missouri.
For best results add organic mater when planting. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and full sun. An application of superphosphate in spring will encourage more flowering.
