The first ever glow-in-the-dark Petunia!
Enchant your family, friends, and you with Firefly Petunia, the first-ever glow-in-the-dark Petunia. A beautiful white flowering Petunia by day, Firefly transforms at night with its memorizing luminescence, emanating a soft moon-like glow. You’ll wonder at the magic of the plant, but Firefly Petunia is the result of cutting-edge biotechnology. Scientists spliced the Petunia’s DNA with that of bioluminescent mushrooms, creating an amazing wonder. This revolutionary Petunia lights up the day with its white blooms. It twinkles in your containers and landscapes at night, creating an enchanting 24/7 garden experience.
The amazing Firefly Petunia was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine as one of the best inventions of 2024.
Growing instructions: Firefly Petunia thrives in sunny spots in a container. For best results, fertilize the plant. Plant with a slow-release fertilizer like Osmocote and then use a liquid-based fertilizer at half strength. Trim back occasionally to keep a nice shape and to promote new growth. The most vigorous growth glows the brightest; keeping the plant healthy and actively growing will promote the best luminescence.
Bioluminescence: The Firefly Petunia glows like moonlight at night, revealing the inner flow of energy as it grows and blossoms. The flower buds glow most brightly, their light gradually softening as the blooms mature. A thriving plant will yield abundant blooms, which can be enhanced by regularly removing the older flowers.
As the plant’s energy works in harmony with its surrounding environment, the glow may change from one day to the next. A flourishing plant will glow most brightly, which can be promoted with ample sunlight and routine fertilization.
Repotting can enhance vitality by allowing stable soil moisture and room for the roots to access essential nutrients. Bioluminescence is best enjoyed in dark areas, free of any light sources. The human eye is best adapted to viewing this when it is naturally dark; viewing Firefly in the daytime requires spending a few minutes in complete darkness to adjust to the conditions before the magic of Firefly reveals itself.
Bringing Indoors: Bring Firefly Petunia inside before temperatures drop below freezing. Give Firefly direct sunlight for at least 6 hours or use grow lights. Keep watered and fertilized throughout the year. If given enough light and care, Firefly Petunia may thrive as a houseplant.
