Eryngium Big Blue Sea Holly
For a plant that makes gorgeous statement, even in your hottest, driest spots, try ‘Big Blue’ Sea Holly, Eryngium. A superior hybrid, its intensely-iridescent blue flowers appear all summer. The flowers are produced on colorful silver-blue, candelabra-branched stems, high above its rosette of shiny silvery foliage.
Adored by florists and gardeners for its unique spiny steel blue flowers, ‘Big Blue’ is a fascinating addition to gardens and flower arrangements. Flowers may be used in fresh or dried in arrangements.
A tough as they come beauty, ‘Big Blue’ Sea Holly tolerates drought, sun baked areas, and is not bothered by deer or rabbits.
Plant in full sun in well-draining soil. Can be grow in dry, poor soils as long it drains well. It’s long tap root makes it drought tolerant, but difficult to move.
