Taxodium distichum – Bald Cypress
SKU: n/a.$54.99
This stately and versatile conifer, Bald Cypress, Taxodium distichum, can be used for many different needs. The russet-red fall color of its lacy needles is one of its outstanding characteristics of this Missouri native tree. Unlike most cone-bearing trees, Bald Cypress loses its needles each winter and grows a new set in spring. Hardy and tough, this tree will adapt to a wide range of soil types, whether wet, dry, or swampy. In swampy or wet locations Bald Cypress tend to get the iconic “knees” that grow from the roots and protrude above the surface.
Plant Bald Cypress in sun. Keep well watered during drought for the first few years of establishment.
