Stromathe sanguinea Triostar Tricolor Plant
With showy multicolored foliage, Tricolor Plant, Stromanthe sanguinea ‘ Triostar’, is perfect choice to add a pop of color to indoor spaces or mixed containers. Narrow oblong foliage with pointed tips are mixed shades of green, pink and white with burgundy undersides. This slow growing plant is a great choice for a desk or shelf when young. As it grows it will be better suited on the ground or a low table.
Though tolerant of low light conditions it will lose its variegation and leaves will turn green if not given enough light.
Part of the same family as the Prayer Plant. At night leaves will close up revealing it’s burgundy underside and then open again as morning comes.
Stromanthes like bright indirect light, a north facing or east facing window is a perfect spot. Humidity lovers, be sure to mist, especially if near an air vent. Great choice for a bathroom or placed around other humidity loving houseplants. Keep soil moist but not water logged. Water when the top inch of soil is dry.
Chosen as a Missouri Botanical Gardens Plant of Merit for it outstanding ornamental value.
