Hameln Fountain Grass, Pennisetum, has finely textured leaves that are especially lovely when backlit by the early morning or late afternoon sun. Soft, cream colored fox-tail panicles begin to appear in midsummer. This grass works effectively in mass plantings, but also can be used as an accent plant in gardens and in containers.

Fountain Grass matures into a stately easy-care landscape plant. Drought tolerant once established but can tolerate wet locations as well. Deer and rabbit resistant.

Plant in full sun to part shade. For best blooming keep well watered, especially when budding and in bloom. Easy to grow. Cut back in late winter.
