Monstera adansonii, Swiss Cheese Vine
With its extremely holey leaves the Swiss Cheese Vine, Monstera adansonii, adds whimsy to any houseplant collection. Medium sized leaves with many holes that are large enough to put your finger through grow on green stems that voluminously trail. Perfect for hanging baskets or on shelves where the weeping nature of the plant can best be seen. May also be trained up a totem for added height and drama. This easy to grow houseplant is perfect for beginners looking for something a little more interesting.
Grow Swiss Cheese Vine in a container with drainage holes with standard potting mix. Swiss Cheese Vines like bright indirect light, but can tolerate dark locations as well. It likes humid environments, consider using a humidifier especially in winter. Water when the top inch of soil is dry in the container.
