Lavender Sensational
A multitude of outstanding qualities makes Sensational Lavender a top choice.
A fantastic improvement over older varieties, Sensational Lavender’s huge flowers can be 4″ wide. Its exceptional vigor and showy thick, silver foliage add more outstanding attributes. The wonderfully scented flowers of intense purple appear on densely flowered spikes for months all summer into fall. Compared to others it has a longer blooming season because it re-blooms, has larger flowers, top disease resistance, and withstands extreme temperatures and weather. Sensational Lavender looks beautiful in the garden with its compact, upright habit. It forms a well-branched plant 24-30” high and 24″ wide.
Very disease resistant, Sensational Lavender has high tolerance to leaf spotting and root disease. A tough variety it withstands all of our crazy Missouri weather–heat, humidity and cold winters. Sensational makes a great addition to the perennial border, the rock garden or in a pot on the patio. Place a pot next to your entrance way to delight all your visitors with its beauty and scent. Very versatile, it makes a stunning, fragrant low hedge, edger, or a sensational sight in mass plantings.
Sensational Lavender’s strong flower stems and wonderful fragrance make it an ideal choice for fresh or dry cut flowers. Both ornamental and edible, Sensational Lavender is a deer and rabbit proof variety that can be enjoyed in the garden and in the home year-round.
Plant Lavender in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Good drainage is a must for Lavender. Cut spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Plants benefit from a light pruning in early spring.
