Itea Fizzy Mizzy, Sweetspire
Sun, shade, wet, dry? Who cares, Fizzy Mizzy Sweetspire grows anywhere, and fragrant to boot!
A fun variety of the native Sweetspire shrub, Fizzy Mizzy Itea virginica boasts loads of upward pointing, sweetly scented white flower spikes. Thick dark green foliage contrasts beautifully with the white spiky flowers. Leaves turn brilliant scarlet in fall.
Plant Sweetspire just about anywhere – growing well in sun and shade and tolerant of most soil conditions, including consistently moist, we call Sweetspire shrubs our “problem solvers” at Sugar Creek. Be sure to keep well watered the first couple years to ensure healthy root development.
