Hydrangea – Pee Wee Oakleaf Hydrangea
SKU: n/a.Prized for its diminutive stature, Pee Wee Oakleaf Hydrangea, Hydrangea quercifolia, brings large white flowers in the shape of cones on dwarf plants that grow only 3-4′ tall and wide. The sweetly smelling flowers emerge white in May. As the flowers age, they turn a romantic dusty pink. Flowers are robust, remaining on the shrubs even in heavy rain, and will dry on the shrub, lasting throughout winter. Its flowers are beautiful in fresh-cut and dried flower arrangements. Its large oak leaf-shaped foliage turns brilliant red and purple in fall.
Use it as a gorgeous specimen or accent plant for foundations or gardens, around patios, or as an informal hedge. It is fantastic for small gardens. Mature stems exfoliate to reveal rich, dark inner bark that provides wonderful texture and color in winter.
Plant in sun or shade. For best results, plant in rich soil and keep it well watered.
