Hemerocallis – Desert Flame Repeat Blooming Daylily
SKU: n/a.Highly recommended by daylily connoisseurs as an absolute top choice, Desert Flame Daylily sets the garden ablaze with large 5½” flaming red-orange blossoms. The color is so vibrant you’ll need sunglasses to even look at it!
Daylily expert Arthur Kroll calls
Desert Flame “the most beautiful in its color class, a terrific daylily.”
Adored and admired as an excellent garden performer, it produces its beautifully ruffled, recurved flowers of excellent substance with a lime green throat and orange stamens first in midseason and then again later in fall. This taller daylily features very strong, well-budded, and branched scapes that soar to 3′. The foliage stays nice looking all season long.
Premium Daylilies
Considered a premium daylily, it has been selected as a highly performing plant with exceptional bloom performance, substantive, vibrantly colored flowers, and a vigorous habit. Out of the thousands of varieties available, it ranks among the very best. Far superior to other daylilies, its outstanding qualities include:
- Rebloomer, producing a second set of flowers.
- Exceptionally beautiful blossoms.
- Vigorous grower.
- Prolific bloomer.
- Tetraploid with 44 chromosomes, twice as many as Diploids. Tetraploids tend to be bigger, stronger plants.
Use Desert Flame Daylily in perennial beds, cottage, and pollinator gardens or as a showy specimen plant. Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot, including polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).
Plant in full sun to part shade. Although drought tolerant, keep well watered for repeat flowering.
