A fantastic long-lived, long-blooming perennial, White Bloody Cranesbill, Geranium sanguinium Album, lights up the garden with snow-white flowers in the shape of saucers. The unique flowers appear over evergreen low-growing plants in late spring and early summer. Its deeply cut foliage turns rich crimson in fall. And more good news, it’s a snap to grow and an extremely long-lived perennial.

Use White Bloody Cranesbill in perennial beds, cottage, and pollinator gardens. It makes an excellent evergreen ground cover. So darn easy to grow–sun, shade, and just about any soil. Very heat and drought-tolerant and never bothered by rabbits or deer. Prune plants back in early spring. Also known as Bloody Cranesbill and Hardy Geranium. Even though it is a white selection, the species sanguinium has earned the common name “Bloody Cranesbill” due to its other members having deep reddish-purple, crimson flowers, and crane-like seed heads. Rare and choice perennial.

Growing instructions: Plant in sun to part shade to shade. Although not fussy about soil, adding compost or other organic matter when planting will bring the best results. Keep well hydrated until plants are established. For best blooming keep plants well watered when they are setting up buds, blooming, and during dry spells.
