Blue Glow Globe Thistle, Echinops, has entertained gardeners for years with its intense blue decorative spheres measuring 1.5″ across. These fun globes appear on tall 48″ stems. Plant in full sun. It prefers to be grown in poor, well-drained soil but tolerates almost any soil and part shade. Remove spent flowers to encourage rebloom in the fall. Plants may be propagated by removing the small plantlets surrounding mature clumps and replanting them in spring or fall.
