Viburnum lentago – Nanberry Viburnum
SKU: n/a.A romantic Missouri and Illinois native shrub Nanberry Viburnum, Viburnum lentago, delights with fluffy white flowers, shiny green foliage, and wonderful blue berries. Its beautiful show begins in spring with white flowers that cover the glossy green leaves. Clusters of blue berries adorn this beauty in summer and fall. Once the weather cools its leaves turn bright red. Nanberry is the host plant for the Spring Azure butterfly.
Use Nanberry Viburnum as a hedge, specimen plant, and in naturalized areas. With its ruggedness and beauty, Nanberry Viburnum is ideal for home landscapes. It grows well in full sun or partial shade. Many creatures of nature, including you, butterflies, hummingbirds, birds, bees, and other wildlife, will delight in all it brings. It grows 14-16′ tall and 6-10′ wide.
Plant Nanberry Viburnum in full sun to part shade in soil amended with compost or other organic matter. Adding a starter fertilizer when planting will establish the plant fast. Keep well watered until established, when the plant is setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells.
