The flowers morph into pale green berries that ripen to deep pink with a good mild flavor and firmness. It reaches 4 to 5 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. Great fall and winter interest. Its boxwood-like foliage makes it perfect for planting as a hedge or in groups in the garden. It also works in less formal and native plant gardens. It’s easy to care for, with very little pruning needed. The glossy foliage turns bright red in fall before dropping for the winter. Amend with compost before planting and use a fertilizer for acid-loving plants. Adding garden sulfur can help lower pH as needed. Pink Lemonade Blueberry will also thrive in a larger container. Plant with quality potting soil. Fertilize regularly during spring and summer for the best berry production. Although self-pollinating, for maximum berry production, plant one or more Pink Lemonade plants or other Rabbiteye varieties close by.
