Thuja – Tater Tot Arborvitae
As cute as its name ‘Tater Tot’ Arborvitae, Thuja forms into an adorable rounded evergreen globe. Soft green fan-shaped scented foliage grows into a small rounded ball between 1-2′ tall and wide. So cute you’ll want to give it a hug. With its neat, rounded habit and evergreen foliage, ‘Tater Tot’ can fill just about any landscape role. A perfect choice for adding a touch of formality to landscapes that could benefit from a bit of structure.
Plant ‘Tater Tot’ Arborvitae in full to part sun in moist well-drained soil. Arborvitae benefits from a 2-3″ layer of mulch. It needs little to no pruning, but if you wish to prune, do so in spring, after the new growth has begun to flush out. Avoid cutting into any thick or old stems.
