Anna’s Magic Ball Arborvitae, Thuja, grows into perfect a globe of golden evergreen foliage. This petite plant only reaches about 10-15″ tall and wide, making it perfect for small hedges, accents, or placed in a container where its formal shape can be enjoyed without pruning.
Plant Anna’s Magic Ball Arborvitae in full to part sun in moist well-drained soil. Add compost or other organic matter to the soil when planting. Use a starter fertilizer like Espoma Bio-tone Starter Arborvitae benefits from a 2-3″ layer of mulch. It needs little to no pruning, but if you wish to prune, do so in spring, after the new growth has begun to flush out. Avoid cutting into any thick or old stems.
