Thalictrum dasycarpum – Purple Meadow Rue
SKU: n/a.A graceful Missouri and Illinois native perennial, Purple Meadow Rue, Thalictrum dasycarpum, brings rich texture to gardens with its airy flowers and lobed leaves. In late spring into summer, its deep purple stems are adorned with panicles of tiny, drooping, purple-tinged white flowers creating a misty display. An elegant and refined foliage plant, it makes a great companion to many other shade-loving perennials. Deer resistant.
Purple Meadow Rue makes a lovely choice for part shade gardens, woodland and cottage gardens, cutting gardens, wildflower gardens, meadows, and naturalized areas. Grows about 3-5′ tall and 3-4′ wide. Deer resistant.
Plant in average to rich soil in dappled sun or light shade. Protect from the afternoon sun, morning sun with afternoon shade works well. It prefers moist, rich soil and will do best in soil that has been amended with compost or other organic matter.
