Spirea White Gold
No time? No worry! White Gold Spirea, once established, needs little to no care. Snow white flowers sparkle over golden foliage in spring and early summer, then repeating again in late summer. The white flowers and bright foliage create a stunning combination that stands out in a sunny landscape. White Gold Spirea is tolerant of shadier spots too but will have more chartreuse than gold-colored foliage.
Its petite nature, growing only 36″ tall and wide means that it plays well in mixed perennial gardens, can be used as a low hedge, or used in the front of a border. An ideal mini shrub to use as a ground cover in hot dry spots. The bright gold leaves take on showy red tones in fall. Deer and rabbit resistant and drought tolerant once established White Gold Spirea is a perfect plant for low-maintenance gardens.
Plant Spirea in moist well-drained soils in sun to light shade. Blooms spring into summer. Although it will rebloom on its own, giving a shear after the first wave of flowers will encourage heavier repeat bloom.
