Ratibida pinnata – Gray Head Mexican Hat
A fun, easy-to-grow Illinois and Missouri native, Gray Head Mexican Hat, Ratibida pinnata, brings graceful flowers atop long stems. Hanging petals surround gray rounded cones, looking like little ballerinas dancing in the wind. A stately plant, it grows 3-5′ tall.
This Missouri and Illinois native perennial makes a top choice for wildflower meadows and naturalized areas, working beautifully with its native companions, Blazing Stars, Coneflowers, Turtleheads, and more.
