Polemonium reptans – Jacob’s Ladder
A delightful Missouri native perennial, Polemonium reptans, Jacob’s Ladder, makes its home in shady woodlands. Charming light blue, bell shaped flowers appear on sprawling plants in spring. Its fascinating oval leaflets are arranged on its stems like the rungs of a ladder. In ideal conditions plants will self seed. It works well in partially shaded areas of perennial borders, naturalized areas, woodland gardens or native plant gardens. Makes a fantastic ground cover for shady areas.
Plant in rich soil in a shady location. It prefers moist soil.
