Phlox paniculata – Sherbet Blend Garden Phlox
SKU: n/a.$16.99
Just as colorful as the frozen treat, the plump flower heads of Sherbet Blend Phlox, Phlox paniculata, are loaded with petals in hues of pale strawberry, lemon, lime, and cream. In summer, the extravagant show begins when yellow-green buds burst out of chocolate-maroon backs and open into the extravagant color blend. Its fragrant flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies and make excellent cut flowers. The plant grows 27.5″ tall.
Tall Phlox makes a charming addition to cottage and perennial gardens. Use in cutting gardens, butterfly and pollinator gardens, meadows, and naturalized gardens.
Plant in full sun to part shade. Add organic matter to the soil. The plant benefits from fertilizer. Although tolerant of drought, it prefers moist soil throughout the season. For best bloom, keep the soil consistently moist when the plant is setting buds and flowering. If you want an extra big show, use liquid fertilizers just before the plant begins to show flower buds around early summer.
