‘Puppy Love’ Fountain Grass, Pennisetum, adds a dramatic element to landscapes and gardens with its many thick, dark-red, bottle brush plumes in summer. The darker red inflorescences begin to show color in late summer and continue until frost. Its inflorescence appears earlier in summer compared to other Pennisetums. Its stunning flowers are held high above its graceful, arching fountain of green, glossy foliage with burgundy accents. The green foliage always looks beautiful and adds architectural interest. Excellent mixed in a perennial garden to add contrasting texture to large-leafed plants, or used planted in mass as a low hedge. Fantastic in containers.
