A graceful beauty
One of the most beautiful of all ornamental grasses, ‘Gracillimus’ Maiden Grass, Miscanthus, adds stately gracefulness to the garden. Long very narrow green leaf blades with a silver center rib form into an arching clump. Wispy pinkish-red flowers appear in late summer into fall and persist throughout winter. The coppery colored flowers turn to beige as the seeds mature.
This tall grass makes an excellent focal point or can be planted in mass to create a dense hedge. Deer detest touching this grass, and it can be used as a barrier to keep deer out.
‘Gracillimus’ Maiden Grass matures to 48-84″ tall and 36-72″ wide.
Plant in full sun. Plants prefer moist soil but tolerate tough dry conditions. Mulch plants to conserve moisture. Cut plants back to the ground in late winter.
