Yellow Bird Magnolia originated from the renowned Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Magnolia breeding program. A cross between the Missouri native Cucumbertree, Magnolia acuminiata and Magnolia liliflora native to Asia. The parent of all yellow-flowering Magnolias, the Missouri native Cucumbertree is the only species with yellow pigment.
Transform a space into a gorgeous oasis with Yellow Bird Magnolia. Use it as a centerpiece in the garden, to soften corners, or as an attractive accent around patios.
Plant Yellow Bird Magnolia in sun to part shade locations. Add compost or other organic matter to the soil when planting. Use a starter fertilizer like Espoma Bio-tone Starter to get your plants off to a quick start. Keep well watered when establishing plants, and when plants are setting up buds and blooming.
