Magnolia Ann
SKU: n/a.Enjoy a breathtaking display of large fragrant flowers in spring with Magnolia Ann. Lipstick red buds open to flowers with hot pink exterior color and soft pink interior streaking. Growing 10-12′ tall and wide, Magnolia Ann fits well into smaller landscapes. Blooming two weeks later than other Magnolia varieties, Ann is less apt to lose its blossoms to late frosts. Prefers rich soil and a location protected from high wind. Part of the Little Girl series. Flowers may repeat bloom in midsummer. In fall foliage turns a pretty yellow color.
Plant Magnolia in sun to part shade in slightly acidic, moist, fertile well-drained soil. Add compost or other organic matter to the soil when planting. Use a starter fertilizer like Espoma Bio-tone Starter to get your plants off to a quick start. Keep well watered, especially in the heat of the summer. Fertilize with a fertilizer specifically for acid-loving plants like Holly-Tone.
