Lobelia Starship – Scarlet Bronze Leaf Cardinal Flower
Considered the best in its class, Starship Scarlet Bronze Leaf Lobelia dazzles all with its majestic spires of ruby red flowers on dark, nearly black stems.
The jewel toned blossoms are enhanced by its glossy purple-red foliage. Robust, vigorous growers, with well-branched stems, they bring stunning color and fantastic architectural interest to the garden. Produces more blooms over a longer period of time than other varieties. Earlier to bloom than other Cardinal Flowers, flowers may appear as early as mid to late June. Starship Scarlet Bronze Leaf Lobelia will enliven gardens and containers with its rich color. A favorite with the pollinators, expect to see swarms of butterflies and hummingbirds. Extremely showy in and out of bloom. Plants produce many flower stems that are upright and strong.
Easy to grow in moist, rich soil. They prefer full sun to part shade. Deer and rabbit resistant.
