Ilex – Southern Gentleman Male Winterberry
SKU: n/a.This male pollinator for several female varieties of Winterberry, Ilex vertcillata has dark, glossy foliage and dense form that makes it a perfect grouping or hedging plant. Although berryless, it does form large thickets that are the favorite nesting area for many songbirds. Typically one male Winterberry will pollinate up to six females. Ideal for rain gardens as Winterberry can tolerate a wide range of soils, including consistently wet.
A smaller more consistent size of the Missouri native shrub.
