Hosta Miss America
SKU: n/a.This sweetheart has earned the crown with flowers many say are the most beautiful of all Hosta.
This regal beauty deserves the winning moniker Miss American Hosta due to its towering flower stalks and glamorous foliage. Large pale lilac to white, tubular flowers with a lavender pattern in the center of the petals appear on sky-high 5′ tall thick, upright stems. Many say the flowers are the most attractive they’ve ever seen, and we agree! They certainly are the tallest we’ve ever laid eyes on. But the foliage also brings elegant form and color with its hues of green, heart-shaped leaves with white centers and light green intermediate streaking between the center and margin. The contrast between the margin and the center is dramatic and refined. Miss America Hosta matures into a majestic specimen that stands out among all the rest. Grows 19″ tall, 55″ wide. All and all a new Hosta soon to be a classic that will win the hearts of Hosta enthusiasts.
Hostas are excellent perennials for shade that require minimal care. They are lovely massed in woodland settings or used as specimens. With their weed-smothering foliage, they make ideal ground covers. Although they are tough plants that can withstand periods of drought, for best results keep them well watered during dry spells.
Plant in shade to part shade in soil that has been amended with compost or other organic matter. Keep well watered when the plant is settling in, when the plant is setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells. Hostas grow best with consistent moisture.
