Its charming flowers are held high on strong stems from summer well into October. It works well in back or middle of the perennial border, in naturalized areas and in cut flower gardens. Suncatcher Perennial Sunflower looks stunning in containers framing doors and on the patio. It attracts birds, bees, and is a butterfly favorite. Deer and rabbit resistant.
Although it prefers moist soils, Suncatcher Perennial Sunflower tolerates dry soil and drought. It can grow in a wide range of soils but blooms best in soil that has been amended with compost or other organic matter. Suncatcher Perennial Sunflower grows 4′ tall and about 2-3′ wide. Plants can be kept shorter with a pinch in spring.
Plant in full sun, at least 6 hours of sun a day. Amend soil with compost or other organic matter. For best results water when plants are setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells.
