Geranium – Bevan’s Hardy Geranium
Bevan’s Geranium makes a fantastic choice for dry shade, where little else will grow. Deep rosy red blooms with contrasting red sepals appear in late spring and summer. Its fabulous deeply lobed leaves create velvety mounds 1’ tall and 2′ wide.
Bevan’s Geranium makes an excellent ground cover under trees and in shady nooks. Its uniform shape makes it an outstanding edger. It is tolerant to drought, and deer and bunnies find it distasteful. It is also known as Cranesbill for its pointy seed heads and Big Root Geranium due to its thick rhizomes.
Plant in soil that has been amended with organic matter in full shade to light shade. Although drought tolerant, keep consistently watered for best blooming.
