Deutzia Nikko
Don’t be throw off by its beauty, Nikko Deutiza is a rugged easy-care shrub. In sprig pearl-like buds open to a snow shower of star shaped flowers with sweet yellow centers. A small rounded shrub, maxing out at about’2 tall Nikko shines in the front of a garden or along walkways. In fall the deep green leaves turn burgundy.
Designated a Plant of Merit by the Missouri Botanical Gardens for its beauty and ease of care.
Growing instructions: plant in sun to part shade, best flowering will be in full sun – 6 hours or more sun a day. Pruning is seldom needed but may be shaped immediately after flowering. Fertilizer in the spring by applying a slow-release fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs. Follow the label for the recommended rate of application.
