Cornus racemosa – Gray Dogwood
SKU: n/a.A choice native for tricky spots, Gray Dogwood, Cornus racemosa, thrives in wet to dry locations in sun to shade. In late spring, clouds of white flower clusters bloom, turning into a buzz of pollinator activity. Glossy white berries follow in summer, which are loved by many songbirds, including Cardinals, Woodpeckers, and Bluebirds. Soft gray-green oval-shaped leaves with wavy edges form a large shrub perfect for the back of the garden, naturalizing areas, in a rain garden, or blocking unsightly views. Deer and rabbit resistant and tolerant.
Gray Dogwood is the host plant to the Spring Azure butterfly.
Plant in sun to shade. Keep well watered for the first few growing seasons to ensure vigorous root growth.
