One of the earliest grasses to bloom Hello Spring Feather Reed Grass adds graceful movement and texture to the gardens for months on end. Unlike many other grasses that bloom late in the season, Hello Spring’s showy plumes appear in May and stay well into winter.

Use Hello Spring Feather Reed Grass in containers, or as a showy hedge or specimen plant. It makes a fantastic background to other perennials and grasses. Its showy blades and plumes make a beautiful companion to Black Eyed Susans, Tall Garden Phlox, Stokes Aster, and many other sun-loving perennials.

Plant in full sun in average, medium to wet soils in full sun. Although it prefers rich, moist soils, it also grows well in dry soils. Reportedly does well in heavy clay soils, unlike many other kinds of ornamental grasses. For best results keep well watered when first planted until plants get established, when plant is setting up buds and blooming, and during dry spells. Cut clump to the ground in late winter just before the new spring shoots appear.
