Buxus Winter Gem – Boxwood
SKU: n/a.Winter Gem Boxwood, Buxus, enchants with bright glossy green leaves that form into a loose globe. Unlike other Boxwoods that gain bronze color in winter, Winter Gem holds onto its beautiful green. One of the hardiest of all Boxwoods. Grows 4-6′ tall and wide.
Use Winter Gem for hedges, specimens, or foundation plantings. Many use it as an evergreen hedge.
Plant Boxwood in sun to shade. Will grow much slower in shady locations. When planting add compost and starter fertilizer. Top dress with mulch to keep roots cool and help retain water. Keep plants well-watered through the heat of the summer.
Prune Boxwood back after frost danger has passed, around the middle of April.
