The stunning, large leaves of Xanthosoma lindenii Magnificum will stop traffic on your front porch or in your living room. Striking leaf variegation and dramatic foliage size make Magnificum look like it belongs in the Climatron, but it will do well in any room with bright indirect light. Will grow 2′-3′ tall and wide at its happiest.

This plan can be sold under a variety of names as botanists have reclassified it several times. Caladium lindenii, Xanthosoma lindenii, and Phyllotaenium lindenii are different names for this stunning plant.

Plant in well-draining, good potting soil. Fertilize plants occasionally when they are actively growing, usually April through Aug, following the fertilizer manufacturer’s directions. Water sparingly but deeply, letting plants completely dry out in between watering. Overwatering and not letting plants dry out between watering will kill plants. Plants will require less water during fall and winter months. Plants prefer warm temperatures and should not be moved outdoors until night temperatures are at least 60 degrees or more. Keep in bright indirect light or under a grow light. Direct sunlight through a window may case leaf scortch.
