Shrub Rose – The Petite Knock Out Rose
The Petite Knock Out Rose is the first ever miniature Knock Out Rose! It has the same flower power and easy care as others in the family, but in an adorable, petite size! Plant in decorative containers for your porch or patio, or in mass for a dramatic pop of color!
The Petite Knock Out Rose brings adorable scarlet red flowers in abundant and continuous waves over disease resistant glossy green foliage. Plants only grow 18″ tall. Use it in flower beds, containers, in flowing drifts of mass plantings, or as a low growing hedge. It can easily be trained into a ever-blooming topiary or standard.
Knock Out Roses are known for their ease of care and abundant blooms. They don’t require spraying or any fancy pruning. Though Knock Out Roses will bloom with little care, give a light shear after initial bloom to encourage new bud development.
Plant in full sun in soil that has been amended with compost, or if in containers in good potting soil. Apply a starter fertilizer or a fertilizer formulated for roses when planting, we use Starter with Bio Tone Organic Fertilizer. Fertilizing consistently will give you best results. Stop fertilizing in late summer. Although fancy pruning is not needed, to encourage new vigorous growth prune back shrub roses at least 1/3 in late winter or early spring. Remove thick, older canes as they become gray. For best blooming keep consistently watered, especially when plants are setting up buds, when blooming, and during dry spells.
