Sambucus – Black Lace Elderberry
SKU: n/a.An exotic-looking plant that’s surprisingly hardy and easy to grow!
Big and beautiful, Black Lace Elderberry, Sambucus grows into a stunning large shrub with lacy black foliage and large pink flower clusters. The dark highly dissected leaves are a stunning contrast to the typical leaf colors and shapes. In summer flower clusters of soft pink form a large flat landing space that is adored by butterflies and other pollinators. As flowers fade dark purple edible berries are produced. Growing 6-8′ tall and wide, Black Lace is an excellent choice to soften walls or create a showy and unique privacy hedge. While tolerant of part shade, plant in the sunniest spot to get the best foliage color.
Plant Elderberry in sun to part shade locations in avert to wet soils. Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but prefers moist to wet locations.
