An easy-to-grow Missouri native plant, Sweet Coneflower, Rudbeckia tomentosa, delights us with sunny yellow daisies over a long period, from midsummer through late October. Their joyful flowers have a spicy scent.
Very easy to grow in average soil in full sun. Tolerant of hot summers, drought, deer, and bad soil.
