Julia Rose Itoh Peony stuns with huge, over 7″, flowers that open raspberry pink. As the flowers mature a blush of apricot slowly covers every petal eventually turning completely pale peach in color. These delightful shifting flowers give off a spicy scent. The vigorous and abundant blooms exceed 50 flowers, once they mature.

Itoh Peonies are considered Intersectional Peonies, a new class created by crossing herbaceous peonies with tree peonies. They possess the best qualities of both including huge blossoms in unique colors, fantastic foliage, strong stems; longer bloom time, and extreme winter hardiness with increased vigor.

Deadheading spent flowers will encourage more blossoms. Plants will die back to the ground each winter.

Plant in sun to part shade. Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal. Plant in soil that has been amended with organic matter. For best results keep consistently moist, especially when plants are setting up buds and blooming. Fertilizer plants in spring and summer only with a low nitrogen fertilizer. Do not fertilize these peonies in late summer and fall. Cut back plants hard in the fall.
