Lathyrus latifolius – Pearl Mix Sweet Pea
SKU: n/a.An old-fashioned favorite, Pearl Mix Sweet Pea brings distinctive flowers with crepe paper-like petals. The mix contains shades of purple, pink, rose, and white. The plant blooms over a long time in summer, from June into September. A vigorous climber, it will cling with its fascinating winged stems that bear tendrils. Without support, it will ramble along, creating a thick ground cover. The plant will grow 6-9′ tall and 3-6′ wide.
Pearl Mix Sweet Pea is an easy-to-grow, fast-growing plant. It is deer-resistant. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators adore its nectar. Sweet Pea makes beautiful fresh-cut flower bouquets. The plant spreads by rhizomes and will easily self-seed, which makes it suitable for slopes and areas that are hard to reach. It trails beautifully over rocky areas and walls. Toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.
Plant in full sun to part shade. Although tolerant of many soils and drought, plant in soil that has been amended with compost and give deep soakings for best results.
5″ pot, blossom color could be shades of white, pink, purple, or red—no guarantee of color.
