Hydrangea a. – Invincibelle Ruby Smooth Hydrangea
SKU: n/a.Invincibelle Ruby Hydrangea owns the title of being the first red-flowering Smooth Hydrangea, Hydrangea arborescens, in the world. Its dark burgundy-red flower buds open to huge burgundy-pink blossoms, then dry to a two-toned combination of bright ruby red and silvery pink. Invincibelle Ruby Hydrangea’s deep emerald foliage is extra dark, and the stems are strong, making this jewel a standout in containers as well as in gardens. A strong rebloomer, its flowers enchant the garden from summer through fall. Only growing 2-3′ high and 3-4′ wide makes them perfect for small hedges, naturalizing, rain gardens, perennial and cutting gardens, and patio pots.
You’ll be enjoy its beautiful blossoms long after it has finished blooming as the flowers last for months indoors as dried flowers, or outside on the shrubs. Attractive to butterflies and birds. Very hardy and reliable, its parents are the Missouri native, Smooth Hydrangea. It tolerates heat, high humidity, and wet soils. Invincibelle Ruby Hydrangea adapts to most soils. Plant in part shade in average to rich soil. Although drought tolerant, for best bloom give consistent moisture.
