Hydrangea Firelight Tidbit – Panicle Hydrangea
SKU: n/a.If you thought you didn’t have enough space to grow a beautiful, reliable Panicle Hydrangea, Fire Light Tidbit Hydrangea is here to help! This innovative new development is the tiniest, tidiest Panicle Hydrangea yet: it reaches just 2-3′ tall and wide, yet it packs tons of easy-care beauty into its small size.
Big, lush panicles of white mophead flowers appear in early-mid summer, nearly obscuring the textured green foliage. As the summer progresses, they begin to develop bright pink and red tones, which keep it colorful right on up to the first frost. It’s petite size is perfect for small yards, gardens, hedges, or containers.
Plant in full sun to part shade in soil that has been amended with compost. Apply a starter fertilizer or an all-purpose fertilizer when planting, we use Starter with Bio Tone Organic Fertilizer. Fertilizing consistently will give you the best results. Stop fertilizing in late summer. Although fancy pruning is not needed, Panicle Hydrangeas bloom on the current season’s growth. They can be pruned in late winter to early spring. You can cut them back to the ground, or if you want taller plants cut them back to about 1/2-2/3 of its size.
